Secret Service ends White House cocaine investigation without finding suspects
The US Secret Service has reportedly concluded its investigation into cocaine found inside the White House – without finding any suspects.
Secret Service officials went through surveillance footage and visitor logs of hundreds of people who entered the West Wing leading up to July 2 when the small bag of cocaine was found, and were not able to identify a culprit, two sources told CNN on Thursday morning. Investigators also could not determine the day and time that the baggie was left in a cubby by the lower level entrance.
Investigators believe it was most likely left by a visitor on a weekend tour that weekend, said the second source. Visitors are required to leave their phones inside the cubies before going on tours.
The report emerged shortly after the Secret Service held a 10am briefing to Congress at the staff level, according to Axios.

Republicans are accusing the Biden administration of covering up its failure to a suspect.
After the briefing, GOP Rep Tim Burchett said that Secret Service officials ‘just decided it’s just some weekend visitor’ and said it was ‘another coverup’ by the administration.
‘It’s bogus.’ said Burchett. ‘That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in my life.’
