Scottish BBC Question Time audience member SAVAGES SNP – ‘You do NOT speak for me’

A BBC Question Time criticised the SNP claiming they “speak” for her, during a brutal Brexit tirade. The audience member insisted that despite voting to Remain in the European Union, she accepted democracy, and the fact the whole of the UK voted to Leave. She said: “I am one of the odd people that voted Remain in the EU election. But, I accept democracy. I accept the vote.

“I accept that we voted as the UK, and I object strongly to the SNP thinking that they can take my Remain vote and claim they speak for me. They do not speak for me.”

The Question Time audience member received a huge cheer following her impassioned speech.

Ms Sturgeon renewed her anti-Brexit campaign last week ahead of the European parliamentary elections.

Addressing her party conference in Edinburgh last month, Ms Sturgeon demanded another independence referendum.

She said: “It is time for Scotland to become independent.

“The last three years have shown, beyond any doubt, that for Scotland the Westminster system is broken.

“If the UK can’t be persuaded to change course, Scotland must. We must have the choice of a better future.

“Scotland must have the choice of an independent future.”

Earlier in the show, another BBC Question Time audience member ripped into Ms Sturgeon’s obsession with independence.

He said: “Nicola Sturgeon said education was her number one priority.

“Why do I always hear it is always about independence or calling another vote in the next Scottish Parliament elections?”

On Wednesday, Ruth Davidson, the Scottish Conservative Party leader urged voters to still back the party in the upcoming European Parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the Deanston Distillery in Doune, Perthshire, Ms Davidson said: “In terms of Scotland, it’s very clear what the Tory vote means.

“We’ve got a First Minister who said this election is about overturning the result of two referenda and having two referenda run again. A vote for the Conservative Party in Scotland is to say no to that.

“Nicola Sturgeon said she was making independence the focus of her campaign. Voting for the Scottish Conservatives is a way to tell Nicola Sturgeon ‘stop twisting our vote’.”
