Detectives hunting a group of boy racers terrorising a quiet neighbourhood have shared embarrassing footage of a failed attempt to get back at them.

Passing by a parked police car on his scooter, one of the youths is seen kicking out at its wing mirror.

But he loses control of the bike, collapsing in a heap and sliding several feet along the road in Wrexham, North Wales.

The contact with the ground appeared to pull his trousers down over his read in full view of the CCTV camera and residents watching on from their properties.

He is then seen scrambling to pick up his scooter, leaving behind chunks of the vehicle which had broken off in the collision.

An accomplice who had been riding alongside him on a quad bike then stopped to frantically pick up the pieces before racing off after his friend.

North Wales Police are appealing for anybody with information on the incident in Churchill Drive, in the Caia Park area, to contact them.

Inspector Luke Hughes said: ‘I have managed to obtain footage of our “friends” playing on their toys on Churchill Drive on Monday – the incident where one tried to kick the wing mirror off a parked police vehicle, which didn’t go as planned, as per the below footage.

He asked anyone who ‘knows where they are keeping the bikes, or what’s left of them’ to contact police online or by calling 101.
