Ana Navarro co-host of the View talk show discussed the news of Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall becoming Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes king. The world first heard of the shock announcement that it was the Queen’s wish for Camilla to receive the title of Queen Consort instead of Princess Consort over the weekend. Ms Navarro discussed Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee message with other panellists, Ms Navarro defended the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall from the public scrutiny they faced over the backlash of Diana stating all “relationships are complicated”. Ms Navarro claimed that Camilla did not fit the “Disney Princess narrative” that the world wants.

Ms Navarro said: “Listen let me tell you something, at the rate Queen Elizabeth is going she might outlive Camilla.

“So this might be a moot point, look the Queen has saved Brits and Americans who don’t like it a lot of debate by setting this up before anything happens to her.

“Obviously Camilla does not fit the Disney Princess narrative, she doesn’t fit the look but there is only one person who cares about this and it’s Charles.

“Who apparently has some sort of co-dependent life-long soulmate relationship.

Ms Navarro added: “I don’t like the idea that she broke up the marriage.

“I think relationships are very complicated, and I think that not one person breaks up a marriage, I think there is more to it than that.”

It was announced in 2005 When Camilla and Prince Charles finally got married that Camilla would not become Queen when Charles becomes King.

The title given to the Duchess of Cornwall was Princess Consort, the move was due to the sensitivity surrounding the Death of Princess Diana who was well-loved by Brits.

But the announcement from the Queen over the weekend stating that Camilla would become Queen consort stirred up public sensitivity surrounding Princess Diana, Prince Charles first wife.

YouGov’s most up-to-date poll for the last quarter of 2021, results showed Camilla was liked by just 34 percent of the British public.

and the results also showed that she was disliked by 28 percent, the results also showed that the remaining third of the public that participated in the vote held a neutral view.

Jack Royston the Royal correspondent for Newsweek, reacted to the Queen’s announcement on Good Morning Britain when he discuss what the public thought of the announcement.

Mr Royston said: “I’ve got absolutely nothing against Camilla.

Mr Royston added: “This isn’t about how she does the job, she does the job well and she’s highlighted some really good causes.

“But 44 percent of people want her to be Princess Consort rather than Queen Consort.

“And 14 percent want her to be Queen Consort so that is really, really stark and clear in terms of where public opinion lies.

Mr Royston added: “I think it’s also really important to think back a little bit to what was kind of going on at the time that this decision was originally made…

“The charge against her back in the days of Princess Diana was that they were emotionally indifferent to Diana that she was suffering and that they didn’t care.

“What this did, it was a sacrifice, bear in mind the Queen has always seen service being about sacrifice.

“This was about a sacrifice out of respect for Diana that showed the world that the Royal Family do care and that it wasn’t just going to be business as usual after Diana died.

“So removing that now leaves them once again more vulnerable to that allegation of emotional indifference.”
