Sarah Ferguson is among the latest public figure to post an emotional tribute and reach out to those suffering following the victims of the Nottingham killings. The Duchess of York, 63, and mother to Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, took to her social media stories on Instagram to publicly comment on the incident in which three people were stabbbed to death.

Writing in a single story on Instagram, the Duchess said: “My heart goes out to the people of Nottingham. I look at the courage of the Webber, O’Malley-Kumar, and Coates families and I am literally lost for words at their senseless loss.”

The Duchess of York, added: “My thoughts are also with the injured and their families. We owe the police and emergency services a great debt of gratitude for the way they have responded to this awful incident.”

Fergie also posted a link that she believes may help assist young adults suffering from loss. She added: “Students in the city may need particular support during this devastating and shocking time, so l am sharing the link below.”

The attached link was to a University of Nottingham page, which runs support and well-being services for students.

The website states university officers are willing to help: “Our Officers work alongside your personal tutor and supervisor and other University support services.”

The website further reads: “We can help you to find the right support service if you are unsure where to go. We also offer advice on policies and processes relating to your studies such as extenuating circumstances or interruption of studies.”

The post comes as Nottingham police are granted another 36 hours to question the 31-year-old suspect about the murder of three victims in Nottingham carried out in the early hours of June 13.

The man was arrested on suspicion of killing Nottingham University students Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber, both aged 19, and primary school caretaker Ian Coates, 65.

The suspect is a former University of Nottingham student, however, officers do not believe this detail to be linked to the attack.

On Wednesday, the grieving loved ones of the two students were joined by thousands of other heartbroken people at Nottingham University’s main campus. The primary school caretaker was also remembered at the event on Wednesday where people paid their respects to all victims.
