Sarah Ferguson and baby Sienna throw ‘fairy’ birthday for Beatrice

Sarah Ferguson calls Prince Andrew a ‘good, kind man’

Sarah Ferguson has lifted the lid on how she and baby Sienna rang in Princess Beatrice’s birthday.

The Duchess of York said her eldest daughter and now-one-year-old granddaughter marked the occasion with a fun “fairy picnic”.

Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, ‘Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah’, she said: “I hid many different fairies in the garden, and I sent Sienna on a fairytale hunt to find the fairies with wings on.

“She lasted with the wings on for quite a while before Beatrice and I put the wings on.”

After Sienna finished the hunt for fairies, Sarah said “we had a fairy picnic” adding “that was a magical day for Beatrice’s birthday”.

Sarah also said: “I seriously was making Sienna understand there were fairies that are living in the oak tree in the garden, so she had to go and find the little door to the fairy department store, which is the oak tree.

“Of course, that’s my next book I’ve just started writing, about the department store with the Sluggington Smyths, which are a slug family.”

It comes after former royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! that Beatrice is “universally liked” despite not being a prominent member of the Royal Family.

She said: “Beatrice has put up with a lot of pressure and a lot of criticism in her life but she has really come into her own.

“We already have a divorced Queen on the throne. Now we have a relatable Princess.

“Beatrice is a stepmother, who talks publicly about her dyslexia and who has more recently had to deal with the trauma of her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, having breast cancer.

“It makes her much more accessible. She seems to be universally liked.”
