Carole Malone told Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine programme that Britain cannot allow “a mob” to dictate what happens to the Winston Churchill in London. Ms Marole labelled the London Mayor’s decision to board up the statue in order to protect it as capitulating.
Ms Malone said: “Regarding the statue of Churchill this country cannot capitulate to a mob.
“We can’t take a statue down or hide it away because the mob threatens to destroy it.
“We have already capitulated by putting this box around it.
“Sadiq Khan had no right to do that, he should be protecting that statue.

“Please do not underestimate what Churchill did, he wasn’t known for his views.
“He isn’t famous for his views, he is remembered because he saved Britain and the world from fascism.”
Last week Mr Khan was blasted as the “worst Mayor London has ever had” by a furious talkRADIO caller.
The caller introduced as Rajith told talkRADIO’s Mike Graham that Mr Khan is trying to destroy the history of England’s capital city.
Rajith said: “London is one of the oldest cities in the world and he is trying to destroy the history of London.
“This is layers and layers of history built up over centuries.
“We have still got all these wonderful historical places and sites and this is a man who wants to trash it.
“He is the worst Mayor we have ever had.

“It is disappointing that other great candidates have pulled out.”
TalkRADIO host Mike Graham replied: “That is true, somebody pointed out to me as well that London is not just for Londoners it is the capital of Great Britain.
“It is our capital city and it is good for it to be as representative as possible, not just for those people that vote for the Mayor.
“The Mayor is simply in there for four or eight years as a custodian.
“He does not own London and he does not own the heritage of this city, I totally agree with you.”
