Royal wedding FLOP: The Queen’s distant relationship with Lady Gabriella REVEALED

Lady Gabriella Windsor, 37, will marry financier Thomas Kingston on May 18, 2019. The couple’s engagement was announced by Buckingham Palace in September 2018 after the pair became engaged on the Isle of Sark in August 2018. On December 21, it was confirmed the couple will wed at St George’s Chapel, Windsor – but it looks like Queen Elizabeth II will skip the royal nuptials.

The Queen’s distant relationship with Lady Gabriella

Lady Gabriella is the 51st in line and a member of the Queen’s extended family.

The 37-year-old lady is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, 75, who is a first cousin of the Queen.

Like Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Michael is the grandchild of King George V and Queen Mary.

This makes Lady Gabriella the monarch’s first cousin once removed.

Lady Gabriella will soon walk down the aisle of the historic St George’s Chapel, a venue used by many royals before her.

But as the bride walks towards her upcoming husband, the Queen is unlikely to be there to watch.

A Royal expert revealed to Express.co.uk he does not believe the Queen will attend the first royal wedding of 2019.

Royal author Robert Jobson told Express.co.uk he expects “most senior royals to turn out” but added the Queen is not likely to attend as “it may be a bit distant.”

Queen Elizabeth II did also not attend Lady Gabriella’s brother, Lord Frederick Windsor’s nuptials in 2009.

The Queen is often very involved in royal weddings, and some brides even have to get their wedding dress approved by the monarch.

Last year, Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie also wed their significant others at the historic venue, and had to get their attire approved by the monarch.

Mr Jobson said: “I don’t think the Queen will be overly involved in Lady Gabriella’s choice of a wedding dress.”
