Princess Beatrice, 31, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36, were due to tie the knot on May 29 but had to call off their big day amid the coronavirus crisis. Beatrice is spending lockdown with Edoardo with her future mother-in-law Nikki Shale and while the couple are yet to rearrange their weddings plans, they will have to do so with care. May is a popular month for weddings and was also due to be when Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s brother James Middleton, 33, tied the knot with his fiancee Alizee Thevenet, 29.
James announced their engagement in October, a matter of days after Beatrice and Edo let their big news be known.
As senior royals, Kate and Prince William are bound to guests at Princess Beatrice’s wedding but will also want to attend James and Alizee’s.
Beatrice’s desired wedding date has to be signed off by the Queen who is also expected to be a guest.
As Beatrice needs the royal nod of approval before she can send out invitations, it could be that Alizee and James get in there first when it comes to selecting a new date.

If both the couples still want May weddings then they must be mindful not to clash when re-arranging their nuptials.
James was a guest at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018 and it seems likely Beatrice would invite him to her wedding too.
In May 2019, James and Alizee both attended Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding at St George’s Chapel and given their understanding of royal weddings they are likely to consult Beatrice before choosing a new date.
Last week Beatrice spent her would-be wedding day away from her beloved sister Eugenie and mum Sarah Ferguson.
Eugenie and Sarah, also known as ‘Fergie’, are both spending lockdown with Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge in Windsor and won’t have seen Beatrice for weeks.
Fergie paid an emotional tribute to her daughter on Instagram to mark the poignant day.
She shared an adorable photo of Beatrice as a little girl with the caption: “Love you my darling Beatrice.
“You have given me more joy than I could ever wish for.”

The gushing mum added: “I am so excited to celebrate yours and Edo’s love when we all are out of lockdown.
“The most important thing is health and love and today I send it to you and all the other people that were getting married during this time .. so proud of you all.”
Given Beatrice and Eugenie’s close relationship some were surprised that Eugenie did not follow in her mother’s lead and reach out to Bea with a public message.
While Eugenie has posted regularly on Instagram throughout lockdown, her last update was three weeks ago.
James Middleton is also a keen Instagram user and has dedicated his account to his dogs.
As well as sharing adorable updates about his six canine friends, he has also shared some humorous videos during lockdown.
James and Alizee have been base at Carole and Michael’s Berkshire home during lockdown and decided to surprise his fiancee with a change of hairstyle.
He filmed himself shaving his beard off and caught Alizee’s shocked reaction on camera.
In the jokey clip James says: Seeing as Alizee and myself were due to get married this month, she’s never seen me without a beard.
“I thought it was about time to show her what’s behind it.
“In fact, what I’m most worried about is that these lots might not recognise me after. Say goodbye!’”
On seeing her beau’s bare face Alizee shrieked: “Ahhh omg! It’s so weird! Even when I kiss you it’s different!”
