Royal wedding: Another 2020 royal wedding announced – ‘we’re engaged!’

Flora Alexandra Ogilvy, 24, is the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, the Queen’s first cousin. This week, she announced her engagement to former professional hockey player Timothy Vesterberg.

Flora shared the happy news on Instagram with a beaming photograph of the couple announcing their engagement.

She wrote: “We’re engaged! My beloved Timothy asked me to marry him and we’re blissfully happy.”

Her Swedish finance posted the same picture with the caption: “We are engaged! Min älskling always and forever.”

‘Min älskling’ is Swedish for ‘my darling’.

Flora added that the photograph by her father, prominent landscape designer and photographer James Ogilvy.

James Ogilvy is the godfather of Princess Eugenie, and is close to the York family.

This will be welcome news to the royals, as Princess Beatrice will be getting married in 2020 too.

The date of Flora and Timothy’s wedding isn’t known yet, but it’s thought it’ll be some time next year.

Who is Flora Ogilvy?

Flora is the eldest child of Julia Caroline Rawlinson and James Ogilvy, who is the son of Sir Angus Ogilvy and Princess Alexandra of Kent, the Queen’s first cousin.

Flora has one brother, Alexander Charles Ogilvy, and is 56th member of the Royal Family in line to the British throne.

She is an art curator, who describes herself on her Instagram profile as a “curator, writer and speaker.”

She is the founder of Arteviste, a platform that is focused on making the contemporary art market more accessible and bringing art to the digital generation.

She studied art history at Bristol University and speaks about art at a range of universities and companies, focusing “on engaging those on the periphery of the art market as well as the next generation of collectors.”

Flora also offers consultancy services and writes for publications including Artnet and GQ.

She might not be a familiar face to all royal watchers, but Flora is a regular attendee at Trooping the Colour and The Queen’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, and is often mentioned in fashion magazines for her sharp sartorial eye.

She also enjoys acting, and once spent a day as an extra on hit ITV drama Downton Abbey.

Flora and Timothy live together in London, where he now works as an investment manager.

The couple are believed to have had somewhat of a whirlwind romance since meeting.

Flora affectionately calls her fiancé “my lovely Swede” in her Instagram captions, with the two enjoying travels across Germany and Devon since getting together earlier this year.
