Royal Wedding 2019: What to expect on Lady Gabriella’s big day – Royal wedding comparisons

Lady Gabriella Windsor will wed financier Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Saturday, May 18. The nuptials makes Lady Gabriella, who is the 52nd in line to throne, the third royal bride to walk down the aisle at the lavish venue in less than a year. On May 19 last year, Meghan Markle said “I do” to Prince Harry at the church, while on October 12, Princess Eugenie did the same to her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

What can we expect from Lady Gabriella’s big day?

After two royal weddings in 2018, another member of the Queen’s family is getting married in 2019.

Buckingham Palace announced that Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, would marry Thomas Kingston in a statement issued last year.

The announcement read: “Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston.”

Since then, plenty of information about Gabriella’s wedding, who is first cousin once removed of the Queen, has been released.

The couple will tie the knot on Saturday, May 18, just one day before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

The wedding will take place at St George’s Chapel at 12pm and be conducted by the Dean of Windsor.

Senior royals including Queen Elizabeth II will attend the nuptials.

Following the wedding ceremony the couple and their guests will reportedly head to Frogmore House to continue the celebration.

The event will be private and for friends and family only, with no carriage procession planned for Lady Gabriella’s big day.

And as the Royal Family gather for yet another Windsor wedding, the occasion will no doubt bring back happy memories from another family wedding.

Lord Frederick Windsor, the brother of Lady Gabriella, tied the knot with Sophie Winkleman on September 12, 2009.

Her older brother married his actress bride at Hampton Court Palace and the couple will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary later this year.

Guests included music legend Bryan Adams and Armani muse Lady Helen Taylor.

Lady Gabriella, who of course also attended her brother’s nuptials was asked to give a reading during the wedding ceremony – and perhaps Lord Frederick will return the favour this time around?
