Royal wedding 2019: Can you get married like a royal? Eight venues you can tie the knot

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi could be ready to tie the knot according to close friends of the couple. The couple got together during Princess Eugenie’s wedding late in 2018, and have dated for nine months. Theirs would be the fourth Royal Wedding in the space of two years, whipping up fans into a frenzy for another day of pomp and ceremony. However, it may be some time before an official announcement, and the general public can whet their appetite with a royal inspired wedding ceremony of their own.

Kensington Palace, London

Famously where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posed for their engagement photos in 2017, the royal grounds which include Kate and William’s home are available for wedding ceremonies.

The orangery, located in the Kensington Palace grounds, is licensed for civil ceremonies and can hold 150 to 300 people for a ceremony and reception.

Westminster Abbey, London

The high-profile venue where William and Kate married in 2011 is a favourite for future kings and queens.

However, it comes with specific entry requirements, as one must be a royal or a Most Honourable Order of the Bath recipient.

St Paul’s cathedral

London’s most enduring landmark is available for ceremonies, but only to a select few.

Those eligible to tie the knot in the 17th-century cathedral are local community members, holders of a British Empire Medal, members of the Imperial Society of Knights Bachelor or members of the Order of St Michael and St George’s churches.

Hampton Court Palace

Once the residence of wedding and beheading fanatic King Henry VIII, the venue is available for luxurious general public weddings.

The orangery, Little Banqueting House and Garden Room are all possible venues where the public can tie the knot.

Osborne House, Isle of Wight

Osborne House is the lesser-known family home of Queen Victoria and honeymoon destination for Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather George V.

The general public can share in their happiness with their own wedding in one of the homes’ many picturesque rooms, among them the Belvedere Terrace.

Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland

The favourite perch of the Royal Family in Northern Ireland, Hillsborough Castle houses Queen Elizabeth when she visits the country.

The castle can hold 350 guests inside and out and has no shortage of luxurious rooms.

Windsor Guildhall, Windsor

Windsor is the favourite destination for Royal Family weddings in the last two years, having served as a venue for Meghan and Harry, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and Lady Gabriella Windsor’s marriage to Thomas Kingston.

Those hoping for a lavish but small ceremony can use the 15-person Ascot Room, while those wanting to utilise the whole venue can take to the Guildhall Chamber.

Kew Palace, London

Kew Palace is set into the stunning greenery of the famous Kew Gardens and is the former home of King George III.

The King’s Dining Room can hold 40 people, while the Royal Kitchens can hold 60.
