Royal tour LIVE: Meghan Markle could take baby Archie to his first Royal engagement TODAY

The third day of the royal tour may bring a pleasant surprise to royal fans eager to get a glimpse of Archie once again. Meghan, who is to carry out two solo engagements this afternoon, is expected to be donating baby clothes her son has grown out of to Mothers2Mothers, an organisation training and employing mothers with HIV.

But, according to local reports, she may even bring Archie to the meeting with M2M’s founders.

This would mark Archie’s first appearance to an official royal engagement – as the four-month-old has so far been seen in public only at a charity polo match in July and upon arriving in South Africa on Monday.

Today also marks Meghan and Harry’s last day together in Cape Town.

This morning, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to meet legendary anti-apartheid activist Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter Thandeka at the Tutu Legacy headquarters.

Later today, Harry will leave on the royal charter to visit Botswana, Angola and Malawi.

Among the many royal duties he will carry out within the next few days, Harry will visit his charity Sentebale and witness the results of his mother Princess Diana’s de-mining campaign in Angola.

The Duke will join once again his wife in Johannesburg only next week, on October 1.

As she remains behind, Meghan will have several appearances to make.

Together with the meeting at M2M, Meghan will attend an event with 12 female entrepreneurs focused on empowering women.

9.10am update: Meghan opens up on Archie’s personality

Meghan praised her son Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor during an intimate tea party she attended yesterday, it has been revealed.

Proud mother Meghan gushed over her son Archie while she and Prince Harry were having tea with a Muslim family in the Bo-Kaap district of Cape Town.

Chatting with the family and friends of Shaamiela and Ibrahim Samodien, who hosted the royals after their visit to the historic Auwal Mosque, the Duchess of Sussex opened up on her son’s personality.

Mrs Samodien, 63, said: “They mentioned Archie and said how wonderful he is and he’s a wonderful traveller.”

Waseefa Majiet, a 58-year-old friend of the family, added: “Meghan was speaking about motherhood and the transition and said that Archie was a good traveller.

“She said the transition was quite smooth because he’s an easy baby and he was an easy traveller.”
