Royal SWITCH: How Queen convinced Charles to replace Harry and Meghan with THESE royals
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, decided to retreat from royal life, moving to Canada with their son and, with the Queen’s blessing, working to become independent from The Firm. Prince Andrew, on the other hand, retreated from public duties amid the furore over his involvement with convinced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Now, the Queen is without three full-time working members of her family, all of whom carried out duties in her name.
Many expected her to encourage other members of the family to step up.
Rumours swirled this might be Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew’s daughters and the Queen’s granddaughters.
Now, with Princess Beatrice’s wedding approaching and the Queen offering her the full royal package, it seems that might be correct.

Daily Mail royal correspondent Richard Eden reported a courtier having said: “Her Majesty thinks that her granddaughters should attend more royal events and carry out more duties.”
However, the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, is said to have taken a bit of convincing.
The Prince of Wales has been eager to strip the monarchy back somewhat after the Queen passes away, and modernise in line with changing public mood around the institution.
Now, however, the Queen seems to have changed his mind.
Mr Eden reported a “close friend of Charles” saying: “The Royal Family has already become slimmed down with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex giving up public duties.
“As the older members of the family retire, it will become slimmer still, so there are spaces to be filled.
“His Royal Highness is very fond of his nieces and would not stand in the way if they did want to carry out more duties.”
In agreement, the Crown’s royal historian, Robert Lacey, told Hello! Magazine: “It’s quite clear that one of the consequences is that Beatrice and Eugenie will now be brought forward—if they’re willing to be brought forward.”

- Princess Beatrice wedding: Will Princess Beatrice become a Duchess?
With the announcement of Beatrice’s upcoming wedding plans, this seems ever more likely.
Beatrice will marry property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday, May 29 in The Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace in London.
The Queen has not only offered a major venue for the ceremony, but the reception will take place in none other than the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
The statement released by the Palace said: “Her Majesty The Queen has kindly given permission for the ceremony to take place at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace.
“The ceremony will be followed by a private reception, given by The Queen, in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.”
This will be the first time a royal wedding reception will be hosted at the palace since that of the future King, Prince William, and his wife, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
Currently, Beatrice has her own career outside of royalty.
She is vice-president of partnerships and strategy at Afiniti, an American software company where she focuses on client development.
