Royal split: Kate’s private secretary quits – ‘Time to move on!’

Catherine Quinn who has held the role since October 2017 has decided to move on for a new challenge. The Daily Mail reports Kate and Ms Quinn will be parting on good terms. A source revealed: “Catherine is a thoroughly lovely lady and has achieved a lot working for the duchess.

“But she simply wants to take a step back and focus again on her charity work.

“Working for the duchess was actually never a job she had ever thought of taking on as she was scaling down her commitments, but then it came up and she couldn’t resist.”

Ms Quinn was responsible for organising Kate’s schedule and joining her on engagements as well as developing the Duchess’s ‘early years’ project.

She has worked at Oxford University’s Said Business School as chief operating officer, as well as on the board for the charity commission, Met Office and Royal British Legion.

The source explained: “She has done an incredible job but just wants some more time for other interests and feels she has helped the duchess create a solid platform in order to move forward.

“Catherine has helped to created such a strong team around the duchess, sources say, that she feels it is a good time to move on.

“They are parting on the best of terms.”

Last month, Kate parted ways with Sophie Agnew, who was in charge of her personal assistants.

Ms Agnew joined Kate and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge on their 2014 trip to Australia and New Zealand.

She is understood to have been made redundant.

Kate has been a member of the role family since 2011.

She met William at university and they have three children.

What will Kate Middleton do for Christmas?

Due to William’s position in the line of succession, Kate is likely to become Princess of Wales and later Queen consort.

The current Princess of Wales is Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall but she is understood not to use the title due to its association with her husband’s first wife, Princess Diana.

Britain’s last Queen consort was Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother during the reign of her husband King George VI.

Kate’s eldest son Prince George is also likely to succeed to the throne.

The Duke and Duchess recently went on a royal trip to Pakistan.

The Royals visited a hospital in Lahore and were pictured playing cricket at the National Cricket Academy.

It was the first royal trip to Pakistan since Charles and Camilla visited in 2006.

They also visited the Margala Hills National Park and met with President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

William and Kate’s intinerary was kept secret due to security concerns.
