Royal SNUB: The REAL reason Zara Tindall and family missed the Queen’s birthday this year

Trooping the Colour went off without a hitch on Saturday, with the eyes on London for one of the world’s most esteemed military displays in honour of the Queen. Senior royals are always at the event with Her Majesty, with the Duchess of Sussex even returning from maternity leave early to make an appearance. But where were the Tindalls?

According to Hello Magazine, the Queen’s granddaughter and her family missed the celebrations because of a horse show.

Zara was competing in the Bramham International Horse Trials, and husband Mike and their two daughters, Mia an Lena, went along to support her.

But for royal fans concerned about the Tindalls snubbing the Queen, it turns out the monarch is not likely to be too bothered.

The Tindall family have always had a fairly low-key life when it comes to royal appearances, and haven’t been to Trooping the Colour each year.

They have always been in attendance when there’s an extra special celebration, such as the Queen’s birthday.

But Her Majesty is likely to have given her granddaughter permission to pursue her other interests and skip the event this year.

Remember, the Queen’s actual birthday is on April 21, to Zara would have had a chance to wish her grandmother then.

And there were plenty of royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony, so much so that there was hardly space for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were amongst the last to emerge.

This was the first appearance for Meghan and Harry since they introduced their baby boy, Archie Harrison, to the world last month.

And it was little Prince Louis’ first balcony appearance alongside his siblings.

The adorable one-year-old stole the show with his enthusiastic waving and insistence on being passed between his parents.

The Cambridge family charmed onlookers with their seemingly down-to-earth behaviour as they watched the RAF fly-past.

Kate and William laughed as their kids got excited about the planes, and stopped their youngest sucking his thumb.

And other eagle-eyed Royal watchers noticed a touching tribute to uncle Harry.

Prince Louis wore a white and blue patterned shirt with blue shorts as he waved from his parents’ arms – the same outfit his uncle, Prince Harry, wore at the Trooping the Colour event in 1986.

This nod to Prince Harry comes four years after Prince George wore the same blue outfit his father Prince William had worn at Trooping the Colour in 1984.
