Royal snub: Harry’s ex invites Kate and William to wedding – but will Sussexes attend?

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will be guests of honour along with their mother Sarah Ferguson, according to The Sun. William and Kate will also join A-list stars such as Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora at the event. However, it is unlikely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the event if they have been invited.

The singer also sang at Kate and William’s wedding reception in 2011.

Ms Goulding is marrying art dealer Caspar Jopling at either York Minster Cathedral or a smaller chapel in Yorkshire.

After the ceremony, a VIP reception will take place at Castle Howard.

The celebration for 300 friends and family will include a festival on the grounds of the reception venue with VIP pods for guests to stay and gold buggies.

Ms Goulding’s guests will be treated to designer vegan food along with Bollinger champagne.

She has reportedly already spent more than £20,000 on flowers alone.

The singer is reportedly considering a brief 15-minute performance at the reception with a DJ also playing classic nineties pop music.

Another performance by a mystery guest has also been planned.

An extensive security team has been hired for the event which will include one waiter for every three guests.

The couple announced their engagement in The Times last August with a notice that read: “The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.”

Prince Harry and Ms Goulding had a two-year relationship which ended in 2014 and the Prince even turned up to watch his ex perform in a play in 2017.

The pair first became friends six years ago when Harry was best man for his brother William and Ms Goulding was the wedding singer.

She sang 14 songs in a Buckingham Palace set that ended at 1.30am.
