Royal shock: The one sport Prince William can’t beat Kate at – revealed
Over the years the royal couple have been spotted taking part in a number of sports against each other, including athletics, football and rowing. One of the most recent rivalries between the married couple took place last February at the famous Windsor Park Stadium in Belfast, where William showed off his football skills against Kate. Back in 2017, the pair also went head-to-head in a relay race during a London Marathon training session for their Heads Together charity.
The most strenuous sporting triumph for William came during their 2011 tour of Canada, when the Duke steered his team to victory in the dragon boat race.
However, Kate has finally got one over on her husband on the tennis court, according to Australian legend Rod Laver.
The 11-time Grand Slam winner who has sat next to Kate and William in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, revealed the Duchess is unbeaten with the racket in her hand.
The 81-year-old told the Daily Mail: “I’d met William and Kate a few times, and in the Royal Box you get a chance to chat with them a little bit.
“They play tennis against each other. William told me he couldn’t beat her.”
Kate is a patron of the Wimbledon Championships and attends the event annually.
The mother-of-three could have already met her match on the court in the shape of her eldest son Prince George.
Last summer, the six-year-old received private lessons at their Kensington home from the eight-time Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer.
The Swiss-ace said the third-in-line to the throne is “already good” and hoped he would continue his passion for the sport when he gets older.
Federer said: “I think I have a little advantage that I actually spent some time, you know, with him.
“So maybe I’m the only player he’s ever met, then you have a little head start in who is your favourite player.”
He added: “Look, he’s a cute boy. I love to see that they’re into tennis or into sports.
“Definitely. You know, his mum has always enjoyed tennis. That’s it. I hope that he’ll still say the same in a few years’ time.”
Federer’s hopes of a royal tennis star may already be wishful thinking after Prince William last year revealed his love for football.

At the royal variety performance, the Duke told chart-topping comedian Frank Skinner, that George wakes up to his famous Three Lions anthem every morning.
The Duke told the comedian: “I listen to your song every morning.
“Honestly, George plays it every morning ever since the World Cup.
“I thought it would fade away but it hasn’t. He still plays it every day.”
