Royal SHOCK: How Prince Charles helped Government solve political issue
Behind his sister Princess Anne, Prince Charles is the second ‘hardest-working’ member of the Royal Family, completing over 500 royal engagements last year alone. The Prince of Wales is an environmental campaigner and landowner. And it appears his expertise also came in handy for a government initiative.
The Mail on Sunday report that Prince Charles was invited to a private meeting to discuss how to save Britain’s forests.
Documents obtained by the publication show Sir William Worsley prepared some questions for a chat with the prince at Clarence House.
Sir Worsley is overseeing the Government’s plan for a wide scale tree planting campaign.

Some of the questions reportedly included: “Has HRH seen a decline in forestry production?
“What does he see [as the] problems with the decline in the sector?
“Does HRH think we need to influence our stakeholders more in becoming one voice for forestry?”
It is not clear what Charles’ comments were on the questions asked.
The Prince of Wales has been criticised in the past for commenting on topics such as the environment.
Members of the Royal Family are expected to remain neutral when it comes to political matters, with the Queen’s behaviour in this regard exemplary.
But in an interview for a BBC documentary on his 70th birthday last year, Prince Charles acknowledged there was a distinction between himself and the sovereign.

He said: “You know, I’ve tried to make sure whatever I’ve done has been non-party political, and I think it’s vital to remember there’s only room for one sovereign at a time, not two.
“So, you can’t be the same as the sovereign if you’re the Prince of Wales or the heir.
“But the idea somehow that I’m going to go on in exactly the same way, if I have to succeed, is complete nonsense because the two – the two situations – are completely different.”
He added: “So, clearly I won’t be able to do the same things I’ve done as heir.
“So, of course, you operate within the constitutional parameters. But it’s a different function.
“I think people have forgotten that the two are very different.”
As for his campaigning, Prince Charles acknowledged it would have to come to an end when he becomes king.
He added: “I’m not that stupid. I do realise that it is a separate exercise being sovereign. So of course I understand entirely how that should operate.”
