Royal RIFT: Meghan Markle played KEY role in broken Royal Family relationship says expert
Speculation had linked the Duchess of Sussex to the cause of the rift between the Cambridges and Sussexes but in fact, a royal expert has claimed that Meghan had tried to act as “peacemaker”. Speaking on Yahoo’s Royal Box, The Sun’s royal correspondent, Emily Andrews claimed it was William and Harry who had fallen out despite claims of problems between Meghan and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. Ms Andrews also praised Meghan for the influence she has had on Harry and her attempts to repair the relationship between the two brothers.
Ms Andrews told the programme: “It was Meghan who had tried to make peace between William and Harry.
“Moreover, I think Meghan is a great influence on Harry.”
For months, it had been reported Meghan and Kate were at the focus of the apparent break down in relations between the two couples.
The apparent feud between the two was also reportedly the reason behind Meghan and Harry’s move to Frogmore Cottage.
Although Meghan did try to play peacemaker between the two couples, Ms Andrews did add that the two “aren’t exactly best friends”.
She concluded: “It’s safe to say that Meghan and Kate are very different women.
“Even the Palace has said as much.
“But Kate and Meghan are very professional and they’re sister in laws, they don’t have to be best friends.”
Ms Andrews also claimed despite the brothers being seen at certain events together, the pair did not see each other privately for six months.
She added: “We all remember those two young boys walking behind Diana’s coffin and we as a nation, our heart went out to them, that really is how we’ve seen them ever since.
“I think behind the scenes, Harry and William’s relationship has always been up and down actually but of course, we’ve never really seen that.”
Despite the alleged rift between the two, Ms Andrews confirmed she thinks “it has improved matters”.
