Royal rift: How things REALLY stand between Prince Harry and William after royal split
Prince Harry, 35, and Prince William, 37, were once as thick as thieves but in recent years the brothers’ relationship has been plagued by rumours of a rift. Prince Harry appeared to confirm things weren’t great between him and William when he said they were “on different paths” last autumn.
Ahead of Harry’s move away to Canada the brothers were understood to have put the rift to rest but a royal insider has now claimed this is not the case.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have settled in Canada following their step down as senior royals.
Their move away from the fold was said to have been months in the planning but their sudden announcement was understood to have been made without pre-warning senior royals.
Prince Harry and Prince William were close growing up but the brothers seemed to drift apart ahead of Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle in May 2018.

Last autumn Prince Harry confronted rumours he and Wills had fallen out during a trip to Southern Africa.
He told ITV journalist Tom Bradby: “Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under … stuff happens.
“But look we’re brothers. We’ll always be brothers.
“We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and as I know he’ll always be there for me.
“We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly.”
“The majority of the stuff is created out of nothing but as brothers, it’s just as I said, you have good days, you have bad days.”
Harry and Wills’ were reported to have fallen out following Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle.
At the time it was claimed Harry was upset with William after his older brother cautioned him about moving too fast with Meghan.
Harry and Meghan hoped to avoid some of the scrutiny they faced living in the royal limelight after relocating to Canada.
However, a royal insider has claimed their move away has not healed thing between Harry and William.

A family friend told PEOPLE: “They didn’t leave on good terms by any means, but they are both relieved that it’s over.”
They added: “Perhaps [Meghan and Harry] didn’t think things through exactly as they could have, but they wanted to be happy.
“Who can blame them for that?”
While the brothers may not have left things on great terms they are reported to have been talking more in recent weeks.
Prince William’s three children – Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one, could miss out on a close relationship with their title cousin Archie Harrison if Meghan and Harry raise their son in Canada.
For now, it remains unclear how often the Sussex Family will visit Britain in future.
While Archie will be raised outside the royal bubble he will no doubt grow up aware of his royal roots.
The Sussexes could return to the UK for Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding which is expected to take place in May.
