Royal REVEAL: How Meghan Markle’s baby will break NEW ground ‘without even realising’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby will “break new ground” by technically being a US citizen, claimed the correspondent. Max Foster reminded that “never before” has an American like Meghan married into this “level” of British royalty. The CNN Royal correspondent said: “Lots of foreigners have married into the British Royal family in its 1,000 year history. But never before has an American like Meghan Markle married into this level of British royalty, and her baby will technically be a US citizen.

“So this baby, whose mother is also a woman of colour, will be breaking new ground without even realising it.”

Mr Foster added: “The baby will only be seventh in line to the throne and will be very unlikely ever to become Monarch.

“But Prince Harry has a special place in the nation’s heart and this baby will have too.

“That’s because so many people remember Harry has a young boy with his head bowed walking behind Princess Diana’s coffin, his mother’s coffin of course.

“Because of that experience, so many Brits around the world want to see a happy ending to that story.”

Meghan’s child will automatically be both a US and UK citizen, due to having a mother born in the US and a father who is British.

The UK government website said: “Dual citizenship (also known as dual nationality) is allowed in the UK. This means you can be a British citizen and also a citizen of other countries.

“You do not need to apply for dual citizenship. You can apply for foreign citizenship and keep your British citizenship.”

Prince Harry’s communication’s secretary, Jason Knauf, said in December 2017 Meghan would be “compliant with immigration requirements at all times.”

He added: ”I can also say she intends to become a UK citizen and will go through the process of that, which some of you may know takes a number of years.”

Meghan is due to give birth any day now and due to the strong likelihood of a home birth, Ladbrokes have suspended betting on where the birth will take place.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keeping things private but we’re confident Meghan will give birth at home and have suspending betting as a result.”

Speculation of when Meghan will give birth remained high yesterday, after an ambulance was spotted near Frogmore Cottage.

But it was a false alarm with South Central Ambulance Service confirming the ambulance sighted was a driver training vehicle.

The royal baby’s arrival is still said to be imminent, with Ladbrokes slashing the odds on Meghan giving birth this weekend to just 7/2.

Mr Apati said: “All eyes are on when and where Meghan Markle will give birth and the latest odds suggest it could be as early as this weekend.”
