Princess Martha Louise is the daughter of Norway’s King Harald V and Queen Sonja, and falls behind her brother, Crown Prince Haakon, and his children in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne. Princess Martha Louise is currently fourth in line to the throne, behind her nephew Prince Sverre Magnus, niece Princess Ingrid Alexandra and brother. The Princess recently made headlines following an Instagram post dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement, and has now announced she is listing her Bloksberg home on the market.
The Princess first listed the home as being for sale during last year’s Easter period.
For a few months, the property was taken off the market but reappeared again this weekend, with a different, cheaper price.
The cabin has been owned and under the control of the Norwegian Royal Family for more than 70 years.
When the property was first listed for sale in April 2019, it was going for 35million Norwegian crowns, equivalent to just under £3million.

Now, the price has been reduced to 25million crowns, equating £2.06million.
The estate agent in charge of overseeing the sale told Norwegian newspaper E24: “The market did not respond to the price of NOK 35million last year.
“We have now adjusted to the feedback we received last year. I have no comment on the interest in the property so far, or whether here has been a bid for the property that has been rejected earlier in the sale process.”
Princess Martha Louise has not disclosed the reason behind her decision to sell the property. Bloksberg is a unique beach property, in terms of size, location, design and identity.

The stunning home is located on the island of Hanko, just south of the country’s capital, Oslo.
The main house boasts eight bedrooms as well as numerous bathrooms and an outdoor swimming pool.
The Bloksberg property has been in royal ownership ever since the then Crown Prince Olav bought it in 1947.
Following the death of King Olav in 1991, the estate was passed down to the new monarch, King Harald.
Princess Martha Louise was then gifted the home by her father in 2001.
The stunning, scenic property overlooks the ocean on an island, which made it the ideal home for avid sailors King Harald V and the late King Olav.
Princess Martha Louise does not sail and has utilised the cabin as a private home for herself and her children.
The Royal Palace remains King Harald’s most important residence, given the vast majority of official events take place here, but the Norwegian royals use a number of state-owned homes across the country.
Stiftsgarden in Trondheim, Gamlehaugen in Bergen, Ledaal in Stavanger and Bygdo Royal Farm outside Oslo are all owned by the state but used by the royals when visiting those parts of Norway.
The residences are also museums which are open to the public.
Additionally, the family owns a number of private estates such as Skaugum Estate in Asker, where the Crown Prince and Crown Princess reside.
The Royal Lodge at Vokskolled, outside Oslo, and the summer holiday retreat Magero in Tjome, outside Tonsberg, are also owned by the Royal Family.
The Crown Prince and Crown Princess also own holiday homes in Uveal and at Flatholmen outside Risor.
