Sophie has been described as incredibly nice and hard-working by a royal source. The Countess of Wessex was highly praised by one insider for her work and commitment to the Royal Family.
They told the Daily Mirror: “She is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
“She’s incredibly hard-working, no-nonsense and she really cares about people and the causes she works on.
“The public has seen that as well and through the crisis she has been seen more and more.
“That can only be a good thing for everyone involved.”
The source’s praise for Sophie came as they were explaining a plan believed to have been put in motion by the Queen in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the insider, the monarch has urged senior royals to put on a united front and help the country during the coronavirus crisis as much as possible.
Buckingham Palace, the source added, have created a Royal Task Force, which aims at extending the royals’ public presence despite the impossibility to carry out face-to-face royal engagements.
The source said: “There is going to be a lot more interaction between the family members while the crisis is ongoing.
“Her Majesty has given instructions that, after a turbulent period for the family last year, now is the time to heal and have a united front and get back to the basics of what the monarchy is for.
“Her sole belief is that it goes back to the basics of duty.”
The Queen’s project is likely being spearheaded by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William.
However,Sophie and her husband Prince Edward are believed to be among those who are stepping up and working more on the frontline during this crisis.
Sophie took part on Monday in a series of joint video conference call with Kate, as shown in the Court Circular.
The two senior royals contacted seven associations to speak with nurses and mark the International Nurses Day, falling on Tuesday.
The first entry in the royal diary read: “The Duchess of Cambridge and The Countess of Wessex this afternoon held conference calls with nurses from around the Commonwealth in advance of International Nurses Day on 12th May.
“The Duchess of Cambridge and The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, talked to nurses from LV Prasad Eye Institute and Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, India.”
Kate and Sophie also talked with nurses based in Australia, Malawi, Cyprus, Sierra Leone, Bahamas and London.
Sophie has also been offering her help as volunteer to provide meals to NHS staff over the past few weeks.
Yesterday, she joined the group Nourish our Nurses before meeting staff at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey.
The Countess helped the team of 16 volunteers packing and delivering 200 bags to the hospital.
