Once a year royal fans can step inside Buckingham Palace for a rare peak at some of some of its most extravagant rooms. The world-famous royal residence opens its gates for a limited period of time every summer. Here’s how you can visit Buckingham Palace’s state rooms.

Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s London residence and is off limits to members of the public for most of the year.

However, every summer when Queen Elizabeth II is away at Balmoral, royal fans can get a glimpse inside.

Buckingham Palace opens up its State Rooms for 10 weeks from August.

You can buy a ticket for an exclusive tour of some of the Palace’s most spectacular rooms.

Visitors can step inside the room where the Queen welcomes and entertains guests.

The State Rooms are located at the heart of Buckingham Palace and provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining.

The rooms are decorated with George IV decor and are furnished with many treasures from the Royal Collection.

You can enter the Throne Room where the Queen’s throne lies and marvel at the White Drawing Room which a mirage of white and gold.

The tour also visits the Ballroom and the royal the Picture Gallery.

Guest are even invited to pose on the Grand Staircase at the start of the tour.

Visitors can even take tea in the Palace at the end of the tour.

There is a Garden Café which serves tea and cake and has views of the lake across the Palace lawn.

Tickets for the Buckingham Palace State Rooms tour cost from £25 per person and must be booked in advance.
