Royal message: Queen’s secret meaning behind new picture released by royal family

The recently-released snap, which featured the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George, sent a clear message that the royals always stick together and survive, the founder of the British Monarchists Society said. Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills believed the portrait released last week by Buckingham Palace is a powerful reminder of how the British Royal Family thrive and survive throughout the centuries.

He told Express.co.uk: “The image released by Buckingham Palace showing four generations of our current, and future, Heads of State/monarchs, conjure a sense of unity, dignity, continuity, strength, comfort and respect – all emotions that the British public think of and feel when they see the Queen as a mother and grandmother, under the auspices of being The Crown itself and the Head of State of 16 different nations.

“Images such as this are used to bring a personal and human face to the shape-shifting and sometimes intangible facade of the Crown and the person who wears it.

“The Royal portrait is more than just a family, it is the tangible image of how the Crown is always there and continuously triumphs no matter what challenges it is presented with.

“The Queen has been seen with the current male line of future kings two previously in 2013, 2016 and now with the new portrait from 2019 respectively which was released at the beginning of this year.

“Each portrait holds special meaning especially with the latest portrait depicting a strong reminder as to the centralised line and progression of power for The Crown, which does not lay with other members of the Royal Family.”

Mr Mace-Archer-Mills, who spoke to the Express before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released their bombshell statement on Wednesday evening, said this family display was a “planned and calculated manoeuvre for the new decade, which shows stability, progress, future hope and familiarity.”

He continued: “This image sets aside the unfortunate situations members of the extended Royal Family have brought to the Queen’s feet within the last days of the previous decade.

“This is a photograph that starts a new age, that shows us what the line of succession looks like as we journey into a different era, a different world and a different Britain as we prepare to depart the European Union.

“The symbolism in the photo shows what we have had and what we know, tried and true, in the Queen, what we are going to get with Princes Charles and William, and the hopes and dreams of our nation in the young and impressionable Prince George.“

The Royal Family’s official Instagram account shared the new portrait last Friday to “mark the start of a new decade”.

The caption to the picture read: “To mark the start of a new decade, a portrait has been released of Her Majesty The Queen and Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince George.

“The portrait was taken by Ranald Mackechnie in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace.”

This marked the third strong signal the Queen is focusing on the direct heirs to the throne.

In December, the Queen was photographed alongside with Charles and William looking over Prince George’s shoulders as he was preparing Christmas puddings.

The snaps were part of an initiative to support the Royal British Legion.

And during her Christmas speech, the Queen also focused her attention on her direct heirs, both with her words and the portraits displayed on her desk.
