Royal latest: Prince Charles opens up about shock ’never-ending battle’ during rare visit
Queen Elizabeth‘s eldest son Prince Charles recently paid a rare visit to the Gloucester shirt factory. The Prince visited the workshop of Emma Willis, who has been making shirts for him for a number of years. However, on his visit the Prince was given a gift that prompted him to speak out about his “never-ending battle”.
When he was gifted a new garment on his visit, the prince joked that staying the same size wasn’t easy.
He quipped: “Very kind of you — you’ve got my measurements. I struggle to keep them the same, a never-ending battle,”
Emma Willis recalled the first time one of Charles’ dressers said the royal would like to try her designs, which happened six years ago.
She said: “So I went to Clarence House and measured His Royal Highness for the first time, and we’ve been making his shirts ever since,”
“And one of the things we specialise in is very fine Swiss cottons, and he loves lovely soft fabrics.”
The trip comes after Prince Charles announced his collaboration with sustainable British fashion brand Vin + Omi.
The brand is known for its punk roots and ability to combine its avant-garde fashion with sustainable innovation.
co-founder of the brand Omi spoke out about the collaboration in an interview with PEOPLE.
