But Eugenie finally broke her silence to deliver an emotional update on Instagram to her supporters – and her husband. Prince Andrew’s links to Epstein have caused much controversy in the UK and US, where the former financier was awaiting trial for sex crimes against underage women. Many had called on Andrew to answer questions on his relationship with Epstein, which he did in a “car crash” BBC Newsnight interview.
The subsequent fallout from his conversation with Emily Maitlis sparked a period of silence from the Duke of York’s daughter, Eugenie.
However, by January 2020, Eugenie made her first public post to celebrate a second anniversary with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
The post was published alongside a picture of the beaming couple.
Its message read: “On this day two years ago…Jack and I announced we were engaged.”
The message sparked an outpouring of warmth.
One wrote: “You two are so gorgeous. Congratulations.”
Another wrote: “Congratulations, beautiful couple.”
And a third added: “Welcome back!

“True royalty and a beautiful woman.”
The message came days after social media users became concerned for the princess, who hadn’t posted since November 15, 2019.
That post was just one day before Andrew’s BBC grilling.
Eugenie’s silence had not gone unnoticed by royal fans, who had urged her to return to the social media site.
One person wrote: “Please come back Eugenie! We miss you.”

Another user said: “Eugenie please start posting again we miss you.”
A third wrote: “Come back Eugenie, we don’t hate you because of your father!”
Other fans tried to reassure the royal that Andrew’s interview did not reflect on her.
One person said: “I understand why you are not posting.
“It must be very difficult for you.
“However it’s no reflection on you and your sister.”
