Bookmakers William Hill make Elizabeth the favourite name for Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s first child at 5/1. The royal gave birth to her little girl on Saturday, who is 11th in line to the throne and the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild.
William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams said: “We opened up with Florence at the top of the list at 9/2, but there has been a real move for Princess Beatrice to name her baby girl after the Queen and Elizabeth is now a red-hot favourite.
”Florence has eased out to 6/1 while Elizabeth has halved in price over the last 24 hours, plummeting from 10/1 down to 5/1.
“Arabella, 11/2 from 13/2, has also been subject to a bit of support.”
The choice would be a sweet nod to Beatrice’s grandmother the Queen and would no doubt delight royal fans.
Beatrice already has Elizabeth as one of her own middle names.
Commenting on Twitter, @Wolfiegirl99 said: “We all know Elizabeth and/or Philippa is in there somewhere. The rest is anyone’s guess.”
Another user, @JTB_30, predicted Beatrice could name her daughter after her mother the Duchess of York: “I’m thinking Sarah will be in there somewhere.”
One more Twitter user, @clarescastle, suggested: “Alexandrina Elizabeth Philippa.”
Earlier this year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry named their daughter Lilibet after the monarch’s childhood nickname.
Ladbrokes has Elizabeth at 7/1 for Beatrice’s royal baby.
The bookmakers’ favourite moniker is currently Arabella at 3/1, followed by Matilda at 4/1 and Florence at 9/2.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are convinced Beatrice and Edo’s little girl will have an Italian inspired name, and the money suggests it’ll be baby Arabella.”
