Harry and Meghan: People share their opinion on the royal couple

A royal fan has explained he was once a huge supporter of former royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but has recently changed his mind about them. It comes as Express.co.uk took to the streets to interview people around London following the release of Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan. 

When asked about their opinions on the Royal Family, one couple were particularly vocal about their thoughts concerning the contentious former Royals. 

Going through a list of the family members he didn’t take issue with, one half of the couple said: “I like King Charles. 

“I like Prince William as well.” 

The man went on to address the Sussexes, saying he has been confused by their recent public appearances and denouncements of the Royal Family, adding that some of the things they’ve been saying don’t ring entirely true to his own ears. 

He said: “I liked Harry and Meghan but I’m not so sure about the stories that’s coming out of their mouths. 

“They seem to be getting at the Queen and the Royal Family.”

His partner interjected, saying she doesn’t deem Meghan to be “genuine”. 

She said: “She doesn’t seem genuine and I feel like she’s pulling his strings.”

“I think the thing is he’s wanting to liken Meghan to Diana isn’t he, and how she was treated.

“So by doing that that it’s how he’s backing his story up isn’t it.”

The new Netflix documentary has reportedly blown apart the truce between the crown and Harry and Meghan, according to Royal sources.

They claim the couple have failed to honour the agreement made with the late Queen at Sandringham in January 2020 in which they pledged that “everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty”.

Others weren’t so scathing when asked about their personal opinions of the monarchy. 

One man responded saying he thinks Harry and Meghan had been treated “terribly” by the Royal Family and are ultimately “decent people” who just want to get on with their lives.

Another woman said there was a major problem with “racism” in the UK and “definitely” in Buckingham Palace.

She said racism indubitably played a huge factor in how she was treated. 

However, the woman did say she thought the pair had taken advantage of the media attention they had been given in a manner which has verged on “inappropriate.” 

Another interviewee was fervently in support of the late Queen Elizabeth II, arguing that the Royal Family is no different to a “normal family.”

She said: “Like a normal family, when you inevitably have issues you don’t just go and tell the world.”

She went on to point out what she sees as the Sussexes’ hypocrisy.

“They wanted to be private but they’ve just gone and done the opposite of that! They’re using their titles to get more money and that’s just compleely wrong.”
