Royal fans are invested in the love lives of members of the Royal Family, and royal weddings are often a national highlight whenever they take place. In recent years there have been several happy royal couples who have tied the knot. Read on to find out some of the age gaps between the nation’s favourite royal pairings.

How old are the royal couples who married in the 2000s?

The most recent royal wedding was between Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, which took place away from the public eye during the UK lockdown.

Beatrice is 32, while Edoardo is five years older at 37.

Prior to Beatrice’s wedding, the last royal wedding took place when Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in 2018.

Eugenie is 30 and Jack is 34, meaning there is a four year age gap, and the couple are currently expecting their first child together.

Prince Harry, 36, has been married to Meghan Markle, 39, since 2018, and there is a three year age gap between the pair.

Prince William, 38, and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, are both senior working members of the Royal Family.

The pair met while they were students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and Kate is five months older than William.

In the same year William married Kate, Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, married her husband Mike Tindall in 2011.

Zara is 39, and Mike is three years older than her at 42.

In 2005 Prince Charles married his second wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and the two are close in age.

Camilla is slightly older than Charles at 73, while Charles is 72.

How old are the royal couples who married in the 1980s and 90s?

Prince Edward, 56, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 55, married in 1999, and they have a one year age gap.

Prince Charles was 12 years older than Princess Diana when they married in 1981.

Princess Diana was 20 when she walked down the aisle at St Paul’s Cathedral, while Charles was 32 at the time.

Prince Andrew, 60, and Sarah Ferguson, 61, were born four months apart, and they married in 1986 but later divorced.

What is the age gap between the Queen and Prince Philip?

Then-Princess Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten in 1947 at the age of 21.

The Queen and Prince Philip have now been married for 73 years.

As Prince Philip is 99, he is five years older than the Queen who is 94.
