Royal Family surprise fans as they forget to fix huge mistake on their Instagram

Prince Louis celebrated his second birthday on April 23 as his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, released new photos of the toddler playing with rainbow paint as a nod to NHS workers battling coronavirus. The Royal Family Instagram shared Kate’s photos and called Louis the Queen’s seventh great-grandchild, while he is, in fact, her sixth. Royal experts, Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, defended the royals despite being surprised they haven’t changed the post.

Speaking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, Ms said: “I feel like this is getting super nit-picky but the Royal Family Instagram account also shared pictures of Prince Louis to honour his birthday and I guess there was a teeny, tiny reporting mistake.

“The caption noted that Prince Louis is the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth but he’s actually the sixth.

“I think people got on them for that but I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as it quite interesting.

“They’re all human, even the royals.”

Ms Fiorito added: “I’m surprised that they didn’t actually fix it or update the captions.”

Ms Bowie asked: “Do they even know?”

The co-host Ms Fiorito continued: “Everyone makes mistakes, you don’t always have to fix them.”

The Royal Family’s message read: “Happy Birthday to Prince Louis.

“HRH is the Queen’s seventh great-grandchild. Today he turns two!”

The experts went on to discuss what they would get Louis for his birthday when they revealed what the youngest Cambridge’s favourite song is.

Ms Fiorito said: “We gave my nine-month-old niece a music box for Easter because Kate said Prince Louis loves the happy birthday song which is really appropriate right now.

“But maybe there’s a music box that plays happy birthday so he can listen to that over and over again.”

Co-host Ms Bowie added: “That’s so sweet! I feel it would also commemorate his favourite song.

William and Kate released new photographs of their son Prince Louis painting a colourful picture of rainbows, which have become a symbol of hope in Britain during the coronavirus crisis, to mark his second birthday on Thursday.

The five photos of Louis show the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child with his hands covered in paint as he creates his rainbow poster, echoing similar artworks made by children across the country and put up in windows of their homes.
