Royal commentator Adam Helliker said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are living in the US after quitting royal duties last year, visiting with their two children Archie and Lili was “imperative for family unity”.

Mr Helliker told the Sun: “I think it’s imperative for family unity that the whole family comes over because, to put it bluntly, the Queen is getting older and these won’t arrive too often again.

“I think Harry will feel particularly guilty if she doesn’t see the great-grandchildren she’s not seen much of – or the great-granddaughter she’s not seen at all.

“I think if they’re going to try to patch things up – and we all hope they will work to increase what remains of the unity between them and the family – then I think it’s paramount that they start planning a trip for maybe early December.

“I doubt obviously they want to be restricted by spending any Christmases at Sandringham, but maybe a mid-December pre-Christmas trip to say hello to the family.”

Mr Helliker’s comments come after Mr Pierce claimed Harry and Meghan were “desperate” to see the monarch as their “saleability” across the US is based on their connection to Her Majesty.

Speaking on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential show, he said: “They know their only saleability in the United States is their connection to the most famous woman on the planet – the Queen, which is why they are desperate to see her.

“It’s all about product Harry and product Meghan plc.”

The Sussexes are living in California after quitting as working royals in March 2020.

Princess Beatrice is tipped to name her baby girl after the Queen.

Bookmakers William Hill make Elizabeth the favourite name for Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s first child at 5/1.

William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams said: “We opened up with Florence at the top of the list at 9/2, but there has been a real move for Princess Beatrice to name her baby girl after the Queen and Elizabeth is now a red-hot favourite.

”Florence has eased out to 6/1 while Elizabeth has halved in price over the last 24 hours, plummeting from 10/1 down to 5/1.

“Arabella, 11/2 from 13/2, has also been subject to a bit of support.”
