Royal Family LIVE Prince Harry blasted for ‘extraordinary arrogance’ over royal title row

Prince Harry: Expert says royal may be fighting ‘losing battle’

Harry is said to be determined to keep his forces appointments but the Queen’s view that he cannot have a “one foot in, one foot out” approach to royal duties has reportedly not changed. Conservative commentator Darren Grimes hit out at the Duke of Sussex in a post on Twitter.

He blasted: “Prince Harry wants to keep his honorary military titles, despite leaving the country and his duty to Queen & Country for Wokery & Whackery.

“It displays extraordinary arrogance to assume you can keep your privileges after trading it all in for Spotify & Netflix deals in Hollywood.”

Harry, who was in the Army for 10 years, is living in an £11million mansion in California after quitting royal duties with Meghan Markle last March.

The Megxit arrangements are due to be reviewed after one year, when the issue of the Duke’s honorary military titles – including Captain General of the Royal Marines – will need to be dealt with.

It is thought the 12-month period was to leave a way back for Harry and former actress Meghan to the royal fold.

But this looks unlikely as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex push ahead with new careers in America which include lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

The review will have to decide what happens to Harry’s military titles if he is stripped of them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could “beat” the Royal Family to creating a relationship with Mr Biden, commentators have claimed.

The couple are not only already in the same country as the new US President, but also have an advantage due to Harry’s connections.

HeirPod host Omid Scobie and ABC News foreign correspondent Maggie Rulli discussed what this could mean.

7.30am update: Charles could use royal ‘hidden gem’ to fill Harry and Meghan’s shoes

Prince Charles could use a “hidden gem” within the monarchy to fill the shoes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, an expert has claimed.

Brittani Barger, a royal analyst and deputy editor of Royal Central, told the Daily Star: “The Wessexes have really stepped up since the Sussex exit, and Sophie has always been a hidden gem.”

Ms Barger claimed the Wessexes are “most likely” to fulfil the Sussexes’ role and “do what they would have been doing in Charles’ monarchy”.
