Royal Family LIVE: Prince Charles MOCKED by Scots as trip scrapped – ‘Change the locks!’
Prince Charles must ‘avoid scandal’ when King says royal expert
The Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were planning on spending the festive season and Hogmanay at the Balmoral Estate in Scotland this year. But they have been forced to cancel the trip because they feel “unwelcome” by Nicola Sturgeon.
A royal source said the future monarch feels like he cannot visit Scotland because he “does not want to cause trouble” amid strict travel warnings.
Scottish citizens have taken to social media to mock Prince Charles and support any decision to block the Royal visit.
One person wrote: “Balmoral is Scottish castle, why do the royals holiday there?
“Why does Charles have his own Scottish home?

“He spends more time there than in England.
“Is he a Scottish king? No.
“Get the bailiffs in and change the locks!!!”
Another person simply wrote: “Oh dear how sad, never mind.”
While others praised Ms Sturgeon and claimed Prince Charles brought the virus with him during a visit to Scotland earlier this year.
They wrote: “Well played Nicola.
“I’m with you on this and suspect that the majority of Scots agree.”
Someone else echoed: “Well done Nicola Sturgeon.

Others defended Charles and said Ms Sturgeon is “isolating Scotland” from the rest of the UK.
They tweeted: “Who died and put Nicola Sturgeon in charge?
“Sounds like power is going to her head and she is isolating Scotland from the rest of the UK.
“Her own views shouldn’t jeopardise her country!
“Not a good idea in these uncertain times!”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are strict travel bans imposed by the First Minister.
The guidance reads: “Under current Scottish regulations, given the state of the epidemic in these countries, unless you have a reasonable excuse you must not travel between Scotland and England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Wales.
“This applies to people who live in Scotland and to people who live in any of these countries who are thinking of coming to Scotland.”
Yesterday, Ms Sturgeon told Express.co.uk at her daily briefing: “All I do is stand here every day and remind everybody what the rules are that are designed to keep all of us safe.
“Many people will not be travelling in the way they would like to travel to see loved one’s over Christmas and not be spending time with loved ones.
“Nobody likes that and it’s not about people whoever they are not being welcome here, I think Scotland is one of the most welcoming countries in the world and I’m well known for wanting to encourage people to visit Scotland, to come and work here, to come and live here, to come and study here.
“But this is a global pandemic of an infectious virus and unfortunately that puts restrictions on our lives right now and nobody likes that but it’s just the reality.”
Last week, Edinburgh locals reported Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, to the police for “breaking lockdown rules” during a Royal visit.
