On Sunday, Kate will celebrate turning 40, and royal author Duncan Larcombe claims her celebrations are expected to be “low-key”, and involve spending time with her family.

Duncan told OK!: “Kate and William are not the sort to go away to celebrate on their own and leave the kids at home.

“I think the same will apply to Kate’s birthday as it does to Christmas – it will be low key and it will be focused entirely on the family.”

This contrasts with the way Meghan Markle celebrated her 40th birthday last year as she released a video with Hollywood actress Melissa McCarthy to launch a major Sussex project.

The pair announced 40X40, Archewell’s new mentorship program, which saw the Duchess of Sussex asking A-listers including Adele and Stella McCartney, as well as members of the public, to donate their time to “help women reentering the workforce”.

Camilla to highlight ‘difficult issues’ as she guest edits Country Life

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will highlight the grittier side of rural life when she acts as guest editor of Country Life magazine later this year.

In honour of her 75th birthday, the duchess will guest edit the magazine in July.

According to Country Life the special edition will “reflect the duchess’s love of horses and dogs”.

They told The Telegraph: “She loves the country life, but it won’t be just horses and dogs and lovely countryside.

“There is that slightly confronting side of the difficult issues the countryside faces. She wants to have a bit more about the challenges facing people, particularly for women.”
