The research conducted by Luck Creek analysed global Google Trends data for the past year to establish the most talked-about royal couple. Searches for the Meghan and Harry were 64 percent higher than any other royal couple and they were talked about 356 percent more than Prince William and Kate, despite not even being working royals. The Duke and Duchesses Oprah interview in April was searched for 566 percent more than any other royal event – including Prince Phillip’s funeral, which came in second. Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for Lucky Creek said: “Meghan and Harry’s departure from working royal life in 2020 sent shockwaves across the world and this data reveals that their influence has only continued to grow. “Last year was incredibly eventful for the entire royal family and it is fascinating to see Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey being hailed as the most interesting royal moment of the year. It is truly a testament to the couple’s influence that they have captured the world’s attention despite very few public appearances.”
