Prince Albert II of Monaco, 62, was the first royal to test positive for coronavirus COVID-19 in March. He recovered from the illness having suffered only mild symptoms but four months later his daughter Jazmin Grimaldi, 28, revealed she, too, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Jazmin broke down in tears in an emotional Instagram video as she shared her diagnosis.

In the caption that accompanied the clip, she wrote: “My COVID-19 experience from the Heart.

“My hope is to help at least one person with this video.”

Speaking to fans Jazmin said: “I have come to terms with some news today.”

She added: “I was called this morning by the hospital that I got tested at for COVID-19… and I did test positive.

“This wasn’t a shock to me per se, because for over this past week I have had COVID-19 symptoms.

“I have been really cautious. I have been social distancing.

“I only go out to get the groceries and I always wear a mask and I always sanitise.

“I hope I can help at least one person today with this personal testament because over this past week I’ve fallen really ill.”

Jazmin, who lives in New York, described her symptoms as “excruciating and exhausting.”

She said: “I had a fever pretty consistently for the past three of four days. I tried to rest as much as possible.

“I did not lose my sense of taste or smell but my appetite was less than usual.

“I started developing migraines and it was super debilitating and it just hits you.”

She added: “I tried to sleep as much as I could but it was pretty excruciating and exhausting.”

Jazmin urged her fans to take precautions warning “This virus does not discriminate.”

She shared the heartbreaking revelation that she had lost close ones to coronavirus.

Jazmin added: “I have lost friends to this virus, there’s been a lot of loss this last year and it’s been really hard.”

Jazmin is the eldest child of the presiding sovereign of Monaco, Prince Albert II.

Her mother Tamara Jean Rotolo and Prince Albert II had a three-week fling during a holiday to the French Riviera in 1991.

Prince Albert II has two children with his current wife Charlene, Princess of Monaco and another son with Nicole Coste.

Prince Albert tested positive for coronavirus just weeks before British royal Prince Charles was also diagnosed with the disease.

The Prince of Wales is the only member of the British Royal Family to have tested positive for COVID-19 so far and recovered from the illness having only experienced mild symptoms.

His wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall did not test positive for COVID-19 but had to isolate for 14 days as a precaution.

The couple returned to London last month where they have resumed royal duties at Clarence House.
