Royal chaos: Will Meghan Markle bring down monarchy over Megxit? Piers Morgan shock rant
A new documentary titled Harry & Meghan: The Royals in Crisis aired on Fox on Wednesday night, exploring Prince Harry and Meghan’s Markle’s decision to leave their positions as senior royals. The description of the documentary described it as an “exclusive TMZ investigation” which “cut through the noise, inaccuracies and speculation surrounding the couple’s surprise announcement”.
In early January, Meghan and Harry announced their intentions to quit their roles within the Royal Family and split their time between the UK and North America.
This was met with surprise around the world, and caused a ripple within the Royal Family, with crisis talks called by the Queen.
Senior royals met to discuss the Sussexes future, and ultimately it was decided they would no longer hold HRH titles or represent the Queen in an official capacity.
One goal Meghan and Harry have is to become financially independent, but in the meanwhile, they will be privately funded by Prince Charles’ Duchy estate.

In the Fox documentary, Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan did not hold back in his criticism of the Sussexes for their decision.
Morgan said: “If Meghan Markle thinks she is going to emerge from this as some kind of Princess Diana figure, she needs to think again.
“She’s going to end up like a mini royal Kim Kardashian with all the ignominy that goes with that title.”
He later went on to speak about Prince Harry, saying: “I think Harry has been as bad as Meghan, to be honest.
“How he’s gone from being a party boy, fun-loving hugely popular charismatic charming young man that everybody loved who was a fearless army captain in war zones, to this wet drip being pushed around by his older American wife in this way to basically extricate him from the Royal family and take him to another country”.
The GMB presenter also claimed the couple would have to “re-brand themselves”.
He added: “The rest of the world really sees what it is, which is a power grab by two ego-mad, self-obsessed, virtue signalling ‘progressive’ young people who basically stamped their feet and the Queen rolled over.”
In fact, Morgan claimed the monarchy, on the whole, would be impacted and would likely “end up having renegade royals running around the world like global celebrities’.

He said: “If you allow them to do that, to ruthlessly commercially cash-in on their royal fame, that is the beginning of the end of the monarchy.”
However, there has been widespread support for Meghan and Harry’s decision to live private lives with their young son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Oprah Winfrey said she supported the couple “1,000 percent” saying: “You know why I support them? I support them because I believe, when you have thought about this as long as they have – and even in the Queen’s statement [she] says, ‘This has been going on for months’, these discussions have been going on for months…
“And when Harry said in that charity statement the other day [that] he had to make the decision to move forward in peace with his new family, who doesn’t feel what that takes to make that decision to give up everything you’ve known your whole life to say, I’m going to choose this new life or what I believe to be the truest vision for myself?”
Oprah added: “He did what he needed to do for his family. I don’t think anybody has any right to say anything.”
Reacting to Meghan and Harry’s initial announcement on her Heart Radio breakfast show, host Amanda Holden said: “Honestly I don’t really understand what all the fuss is about because before Christmas the royal family announced they were going to slim down the royal family, just use the main players, and I would imagine that Harry and Meghan don’t consider themselves main players so all they are doing is stepping back, earning their own money and still going to represent us brilliantly abroad.
“I mean I really like them, I hate the fact that they get all this kind of stuff in the press and I think, I suspect that she maybe is, or wants another baby and I’m thinking she doesn’t want to go through another year of everyone kind of slagging her off, so yeah I’m all for it.
“I want them to stay together, I want them to be happy.
“It’s a shame because I feel that Harry is the more fun, down to earth one so we’ll kind of lose a bit of sparkle I think, but I think we’ll be able to watch from a distance. I think they’re going to storm it.”
The Queen also made clear her support for Meghan and Harry in her statement detailing more about the couple’s future.
The statement read: “Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family…
“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
