Royal BOMBSHELL: Charles reveals ‘CATASTROPHIC’ concerns about grandchildren’s inheritance

The future king dropped the bombshell as he addressed dignitaries on the Cayman Islands. During his discussion at the National Trust for Cayman Islands’ Blue Iguana Recovery Centre, he raised fears about the environment that might be left for generations to come. He said: “Accelerating and potentially catastrophic global warming, acidification and pollution of our oceans are nothing short of a planetary crisis that affects us all and, of course, the health of our oceans is vital for our shared survival.

“For years, I have tried to warn of this impending crisis and of our fundamental responsibility for our children’s and grandchildren’s inheritance.

“Now those very children are crying out for concerted action rather than just empty words.

“In this context, it was heartening to hear the minister of environment announce the expansion of the Cayman Islands’ marine protected areas which are of such crucial importance.”

Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have spent the last 12 days visiting a host of countries, including Barbados and St Lucia.

They have enjoyed numerous activities and the Prince’s time on the Cayman Islands was no different.

He encountered one of the islands’ iconic blue iguanas called Peter.

Joking before he stroked the rare animal, he asked reporters: “Is he dangerous?”

The couple became the first royals to officially visit Cuba, spending time getting to know the people.

Earlier during the day, the prince had discussed with experts how blue-green financing mechanisms can support sustainable development.

Their trip was described by Britain’s ambassador to Cuba Antony Stokes as a success.

He said: “I think it’s been a wonderful visit and the first official royal visit to Cuba – I think that’s highly significant.”

He added: “It’s been highly successful and a step forward in our bilateral relationship in a significant way.”
