Royal Baby SNUB: Could Prince William miss the birth of his first niece or nephew?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby is expected to arrive any time with the due date said to be in late April or early May. Mother Doria Ragland has now arrived in the UK according to one source, suggesting the birth is imminent – although Prince Harry took time away from his new wife today to attend an Easter Sunday church service with his grandmother, the Queen.

The countdown is on for the Duke of Sussex, however, and the nation is eagerly awaiting news of the royal baby’s birth.

But Prince Harry’s brother William could miss out on the birth of his first niece or second nephew.

The Duke of Cambridge is soon going abroad and could miss the moment where his brother becomes a dad for the first time.

Prince William will be visiting New Zealand next week, Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement.

The future King is said to be visiting the nation on behalf of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II to “honour the victims of the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack”.

The Palace said over the course of the trip, “the Duke will meet with those affected by the attack and will pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity that the people of New Zealand have displayed in recent weeks.”

The 36-year-old uncle will be taking the official visit from April 25 to 26.

At this point, it is unclear how long the visit is expected to be, and Prince William could very well be in New Zealand when his new niece or nephew arrives.

New Zealand is a long journey away from Britain so if he gets a call Meghan is in labour, Prince William is unlikely to make it back in time.

In the aftermath of the New Zealand terrorist attack, where 50 people were killed after an attacker opened fire at two mosques, both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a joint statement.

The statement read: “Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the devastating attack in Christchurch.

“We have all been fortunate to spend time in Christchurch and have felt the warm, open-hearted and generous spirit that is core to its remarkable people.

“No person should ever have to fear attending a sacred place of worship.”

They closed the letter with: “We send our thoughts and prayers to everyone in New Zealand today,” and “Kia Kaha,” a Māori phrase which roughly translates to “stay strong.”

The Queen and the Prince of Wales also sent their condolences to the families and victims of the shootings.

But other reports have claimed the timing of the Duke of Cambridge’s trip could indicate Meghan will give birth before he jets off to New Zealand.

There are even some indications the royal baby has already been born.

When Meghan and Prince Harry’s child is born, it will be the second time Prince William becomes an uncle.

The Duke of Cambridge is already uncle to his wife Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa’ son, Arthur Michael William.
