Royal baby name: Harry just gives huge hint to what the baby will be called

The Duke of Sussex, gushing about his happy news from Windsor, said: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.” But Harry dropped a hint as to what the name of his first-born son may possibly be. As he spoke to the world’s media outside the horse stables, the names of two horses were clearly visible – George and Sir John.

With the Duke of Sussex’s nephew already taking the name George, there is growing speculation the Duke and Duchess’ child could be John.

The Duke and Duchess will announce their newborn child’s name at a later date.

After a jubilant and proud Harry announced the birth from Windsor on Monday, it has been revealed the couple will not pose for photos outside the hospital before taking baby home.

The baby is seventh in line to the throne.

The child will not gain the title Prince unless the Queen grants it to him, as he is too far down the line of succession to be give HRH status.

A Buckingham Palace statement read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs.

“The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz. The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.

“The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

The Queen is expected to head from Windsor Castle to visit her new great grandson today.

She is reportedly still at the castle and will visit Harry and Meghan at Frogmore Cottage.

Royal correspondent Rebecca English has claimed the Royal Regiment of Scotland is due to play Congratulations at Windsor Castle.
