Robert Komuro: Murder probe as man dies from head injuries after assault
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man who suffered serious head injuries during an assault in northwest London died in hospital.
Robert Komuro was discovered in Hillingdon shortly after 10pm on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old, who was from the area, had been left in a critical condition after being assaulted and he was taken to a central London hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday afternoon.
Detectives believe he was involved in an altercation prior to being injured and two men, aged 44 and 42, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Both have since been released on bail until mid-August.
Detective Chief Inspector Robert Pack, from Metropolitan Police’s specialist crime division, said: “This was a tragic incident in which a man has suffered fatal head injuries after being assaulted.
“The circumstances of Robert Komuro’s death are complex but we believe he may have been involved in an altercation with two men prior to being injured.”
Mr Komuro’s next of kin have been informed of his death and a postmortem will take place in due course.
