Rival chain offers Jamie’s ex-employees interviews

Bosses at Frankie & Benny’s announced they would talk to workers facing the axe after Mr Oliver’s restaurant group went into administration this week. Bridget Hutchinson of Frankie & Benny’s said: “It was very shocking to hear the news about Jamie’s Italian earlier this week. “Discussing it with the team we wanted to do something to help the thousands of employees who were let go.

“We hope by offering any employees an interview we can help them get back on their feet.”

Some 22 of the 25 restaurants in Mr Oliver’s restaurant group – which includes Jamie’s Italian, Barbecoa and Fifteen – have now closed.

Mr Oliver, who put £4million into the business this year, said: “I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone affected.”

He added: “I would also like to thank all the customers who have enjoyed and supported us over the last decade.”
