Revealed: The one cause that Meghan and Harry will NEVER give up in their new life
The royal couple intend to make the wellbeing of former service personnel a key part of their future charitable work. It is understood that their new charitable organisation will seek to tackle issues such as medical care and the homelessness of veterans and injured soldiers in both the UK and US. A source told the Mirror that the couple want to “collectively make a change in the armed forces arena”.
A Palace insider said that the Queen “hugely welcomed” the couple’s decision to continue promoting the welfare and wellbeing of military personnel.
A source revealed: “Harry has vowed he will never walk away from his military friends and comrades.
“Giving up his military roles has been the hardest thing for him, and the Queen, Charles and William say how much that connection means to him, which is why there will always be a way back for him.”
The Palace insider added: “Meghan also wants Harry to keep up his associations with the armed forces as he was devastated by having to step back from the one part of royal life he liked.
“A path has been set for him to return to take on those duties again if he wants it.”
Prince Harry has strong ties with the military, having served as an officer in the Blues and Royals from 2006 until 2015.
During his time in the army, he did two tours of Afghanistan.
Harry was said to have been distraught when the Queen told him that he would no longer be able to retain his military roles after leaving the Royal Family.

The Prince revealed his deep attachment and commitment to the military in an emotional speech at the Endeavour Fund Awards for injured service personnel last week.
He told his audience:”I’ve always got your back.
“I feel lucky to be able to count myself as one of you and am deeply proud to have served among you as Captain Wales.”

The warmth and esteem that Harry and Meghan are held by the military was also evident, when they attended the annual Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were treated to a prolonged standing ovation as they attended one of their last public engagements.
They were attending the event in Harry’s role as Captain General of the Royal Marines.
The royal couple met uniformed band members backstage, with whom they chatted and shared jokes.
During the performance, the audience were led in a singalong of hits sung by Sir Tom Jones including Delilah and It’s Not Unusual.
Warrant Officer, Reg Sheen, the festival manager, said it was “absolutely fantastic” to see Harry and Meghan and that he was “delighted” Harry was the force’s Captain General.
He added: “The reaction they got from the audience when they arrived was very emotional for the Royal Marines.”
Harry and Meghan’s last official engagement will be on Monday, when they will attend the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
The occasion will be a true family gathering, with the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla and Prince William and Kate also in attendance.
