Queen’s touching Instagram tribute to Prince Harry despite ‘Megxit’ row

The Queen showed unity as she paid tribute to Prince Harry’s special meeting with rock star Jon Bon Jovi at the Abbey Road Studios by allowing to change the traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony. As revealed in a video shared by the Royal Family’s Instagram account, the band accompanying the solemn ceremony played Bon Jovi’s hit song, Living On A Prayer.

The Instagram post, which shows the band playing in the courtyard of Buckingham Palace, came with a brief caption, reading: “Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace!

“During each ceremony The Queen’s Guard hands over responsibility for protecting Buckingham Palace and St James’s Palace to the New Guard.

“Today the band played a special medley of @bonjovi music to celebrate his collaboration with the @weareinvictusgames”.

Today, Prince Harry listened to the Invictus Choir recording a special version of ‘Unbroken’.

The special single will help raise awareness on the next Invictus Games and raise funds for the wounded and sick service people and veterans.

During his visit to the iconic Abbey Road Studios, Prince Harry was also seen inside a recording studio.

The Sussex Royal Instagram account, representing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, teased royal fans suggesting the Duke of Sussex is also singing the new version of the song.

The Queen’s special tribute to Harry was praised and appreciated by many royal fans.

One wrote on Instagram: “Her Majesty is a class act!”

Another said: “Well done, gents!! So many new opportunities to support the family – super fun and heartwarming! Everybody wins”.

Another openly mentioned the ongoing crisis created by Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave the Royal Family as senior members.

They said: “Doing their best to still show a united front and nodding at Harry’s endeavours”

This Changing of the Guard with a twist comes a week after the Queen told Meghan and Prince Harry they won’t be able to use their current brand name, Sussex Royal, after March 31, when they officially step down as senior royals.

This decision was confirmed by the Sussexes, who on Friday night released a lengthy statement, perceived as hostile by many royal commentators.

The section focused on their brand name read: “While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organisation, given the specific UK government rules surrounding use of the word ‘Royal’, it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organisation will not utilise the name ‘Sussex Royal’ or any other iteration of ‘Royal.’

“For the above reason, the trademark applications that had been filed as protective measures and that reflected the same standard trademarking requests as done for The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have been removed.

“While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word ‘Royal’ overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020.”
