Queen Elizabeth’s mobility issues are becoming increasingly recurrent, Daily Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers said. Her Majesty has missed several royal events where she typically appears and has decided to skip them this year due to “mobility” issues. The Queen has not been seen since July 21 and will reportedly not see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle while they are in the country to attend charity events.

When asked how the Queen is feeling about Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit, Mr Myers told Sky News Australia: “Well, again the Queen is 96.

“And she’s on her summer holiday at the moment.

“And you know, everyone would wish her well.

“She’s got a bit her feet up, a bit of rest and recuperation after a packed summer.”

“But you know, of course, it’s going to take a strain on her,” Mr Myers said.

“We haven’t seen her since July 21, which is slightly worrying.

“I am told that these episodic mobility problems are increasing, unfortunately.

“However, on Tuesday, she’s welcoming a new Prime Minister here in the UK, so fingers crossed we’ll get to see her then.”

The Queen is expected to swear Liz Truss in as the new Prime Minister at Balmoral, the Queen’s summer holiday residence, despite her health issues.

Her Majesty will first see Boris Johnson who is set to tender his resignation as Prime Minister.

At midday, the Queen will meet Liz Truss who has embarked on a different plane than Boris Johnson for security reasons. The newly elected Prime Minister will be briefed by the Lord Chamberlain before being welcomed in to meet the Queen.

Liz Truss will then fly back to London where she is expected to lay her Government’s key priorities outside 10, Downing Street.

The new Prime Minister’s swearing-in clashes with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on a European tour to visit charity events “close their hearts”, a spokesperson for the couple said.

But the Sussexes have reportedly refused to meet Queen Elizabeth because it is “too embarrassing”, royal expert Charlotte Griffiths claimed, after the bombshells Meghan dropped in an interview with US fashion magazine The Cut.

Ms Griffiths told Express.co.uk: “I think they’ve got themselves into a position where it’s going too difficult to visit her. It’s too embarrassing for them.”
