A video was released earlier this week of her conducting a face-to-face audience with General Sir Nick Carter, the Chief of the Defence Staff. The video came after a string of health issues that caused doctor’s to instruct the 95-year-old monarch to rest. A royal expert has revealed that videos of the Queen are only released in exceptional circumstances.

Former Press Secretary to the Queen, Dickie Arbiter, spoke to host Kate Thornton on the Royal Beat.

Mr Arbiter said: “Good point about video. It doesn’t happen very often.

“I know in my day that we didn’t have it often, we had a photo opportunity, but it had to be an exceptional circumstance.

“One particular circumstance when she met Nelson Mandela, we then had a video crew in at the same time as the photographer, but it doesn’t happen often. And it happens for a reason.”

Ms Thornton asked: “Dickie, having worked for her and very closely around her, how will she be dealing with with her health and everything else that’s going on in her world at a time like this?

Mr Arbiter replied: “Well, she’s stoic, and she copes remarkably well.

“I mean, the the death of Prince Philip is she will be would have been celebrating his 74th wedding anniversary in a few days time.”

Previously in the episode, the royal experts discussed how the video was released “intentionally” to ensure the public that the Queen is well.

Royal Editor of Vanity Fair, Katie Nicholl said: “If you think back to pre-pandemic, getting video footage of the Queen having a meeting on audience like this was actually incredibly unusual.

“You might get a photo opportunity but you wouldn’t get this video and I think it’s been very deliberately released.”

The Queen’s health has been a cause for concern for the past few weeks.

The questions started when she announced that she would be cancelling her official visit to Northern Ireland last month.
