Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “unlikely” to lose their royal titles as the Queen is reluctant to give the couple “increased attention”. Since the Duke of Sussex announced his upcoming tell-all memoir, royal fans have been calling for the couple to be stripped of their remaining titles.

When asked whether the Queen would consider stripping their titles, royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti said it was a “problem” for Her Majesty.

He told E News: “It’s unlikely that the Queen will take away with their titles, I don’t think she’s vengeful or spiteful but I think there are obviously problems going on within the family like there are in anyone’s family.”

“But they’re putting it out there so publicly, they said they wanted a quieter life with less press and media intrusion and then they went and told Oprah everything.

“You do have to ask yourself if actually what they’re after is more and more attention and anything the royal family does to combat that is only going to backfire on the Royal Family too and give them that increased attention.”

Following their decision to step away from the Royal Family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lost their right to use their HRH status.

They have maintained their titles ‘Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ and have still used those titles for official purposes.

Prince Harry announced on July 19 that he would be publishing “an intimate and heartfelt” memoir through Penguin Random House.

In a statement, he said, “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

The memoir is expected to cover his childhood and experience as a working royal, his military career and his decision to withdraw from the Royal Family.

Penguin Random House said, “Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story.”

The book is expected to hit the shelves in the autumn of 2022 and any proceeds will be donated to charity.

The announcement has sparked fresh concerns for Buckingham Palace, who were thrown into a PR crisis following the Duke’s revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During the couple’s tell-all interview in March, they detailed their reasons for leaving the Royal Family, claiming that their mental health was ignored and Palace aides had refused to correct damaging articles about the Duchess.

Prince Harry also revealed the strained relationship he currently had with his father and brother, saying that Prince Charles had “stopped taking my calls” and Prince William was “on a different path”.

In subsequent interviews, he has continued to attack the monarchy and has said he will no longer remain “silent” about his experiences.
