The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is the most awaited event in the history of the Royal Family as well the UK. As Rachel Bowie claimed that Lilibet’s meeting with the Queen is anticipated with a christening happening soon down the line. The Royal Family is waiting for these “huge moments to lift everyone up” after the sudden demise of Prince Philip’s death followed by unprecedented circumstances in the Firm and the Queen’s health scare. 

Elizabeth Holmes, Instagrammer and author of HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style said: “There is lot of pressure on the Platinum Jubilee for that reason too.

Roberta Fiorito, co-host of podcast Royally Obsessed, said: “Absolutely, yes, the Jubilee plans sounds like they are amazing and everyone just sort of holding their breath waiting for next summer.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is set to be held from June 2-5, 2022 marking it as a four-day weekend celebration. The following event is to organised for the Queen’s 70-reign on February 6, 2022 as the first British Monarch in the history of Royal Family.

The plans for the Platinum Jubilee has been announced with the release of a statement by the Buckingham Palace.

It read: “There will be year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world as communities and people come together to celebrate The Queen’s historic reign.

“Throughout the year, Her Majesty and Members of the Royal Family will travel around the country to undertake a variety of engagements to mark this historic occasion culminating with the focal point of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend in June – one year from today.

“An extended bank holiday, from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June, will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.

“The four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.”

The first day of the four-day weekend i.e Thursday will witness the Trooping of Color with 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians.

While second day will be a day of Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

On the third day, the Queen will travel with other family members to Epsom Downs for Derby. Later, the following evening, a live concert will be broadcasted from the Buckingham Palace performed by the world’s biggest stars coming together to commemorate the Queen’s seven years of decade.

While on the last and the fourth day, the local communities will see a Big Lunch where people will be invited to share friendship, food, and happiness with neighbours and different culture.

The Big Lunch can be a street food party, picnic, tea or a garden barbecue.

However, it will be followed by Platinum Jubilee Pageant that will feature approximately 5,000 people from across the UK and Commonwealth countries outside the Buckingham Palace and the nearby areas.

Not only this, but an exhibition will be held from July 22 to October 2, 2022 at The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace with the name Platinum Jubilee: The Queen’s Accession that will feature a huge display of portraits by Dorothy Wilding from February 1952 that formed a basis of the Queen’s image on stamps and in British embassies across the world until 1971.

It will also feature The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, a wedding gift to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, later Queen Mary with King George V in 1893.

Later, the Tiara was passed on by Queen Mary to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth on her marriage to to Prince Philip on 20 November 1947.
